Hello, my name is Amanda. I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister, but my favorite title is grandma. I have been learning homesteading skills for over 25 years. My mom planted the seed of herbal medicine and soap making when I was a kid. Along with her, my Uncle Bruce showed me how to love gardening. My Aunt Peggy taught me the love of food preservation, she used to give a case of salsa for Christmas. I understand the love and work then went into those gifts now. My grandmother taught me the importance of not wasting things. She grew up during the depression. But until I met my husband, Jeremy, I did not begin to implement these skills into my everyday life. We got our first chickens, lambs, goats, and now we have cows, pigs, chickens, and even bees. We both have the tendency to want to know what is in our food, how to do things on our own, and remember the timeless traditions of our ancestors. Together we spend our days thankful to our Lord for allowing us to live a life that we can enjoy the land, animals, and our family.
