As I looked at the snow-covered beehives this last month, all I could do was pray they were snuggled down and doing what bees do to survive the winter. There was over three feet of snow between me and the hives, with no way to check on them.
As the days have become longer, the sun has come out to warm up our little Montana homestead. What a difference it has made. The snow drifts have settled down to just under 2 feet. The air is fresh, and the sun warms your face.
This also bought the bees out today. I sat outside this afternoon with a cup of coffee soaking up the warmth of the sun. I was pleased to hear the buzzing of the bees. I watched for a bit and soon a buzzy little friend stopped in to visit. I was so thankful that I was reassured that they had made it through those harsh snowstorms.
In these moments we are reminded of how wonderfully our world was created. From the largest of things like the sun; down to the smallest of things like the buzzing bee, the Lord thought of everything. I am thankful He has shown me the blessings of the littlest things, like the buzzing of the bees on a sunny snow-covered afternoon.
